Our Wedding Day – One Year On

4th June 2016 – The best day of our lives!

Everyone says your wedding day is the best day of your life, and they aren’t far wrong. For me it just pips the day Matt proposed, which was pretty epic!!

I remember the morning of the wedding (after very little sleep) feeling so ready to become Mrs Voyce. Getting ready in the bridal suite surrounded by the most amazing people in my life – my Maid of Honour and best friend for 18 years, Rachel, my bridesmaids, Matt’s sister Gemma and buddies Hannah and Georgie. And of course my parents, the most amazing humans to walk this planet. In came the make up artist and hairdresser and I knew it was all beginning!

I couldn’t have loved my dress anymore than I did. It was called Sunrose by Suzanne Neville. From the lace detailing on the sleeves to the gorgeous lace peplum, it was pure perfection. I also had a long veil with lace edging, matching in with the detailing from the dress.

As well as having the most amazing girls making up Team Bride, Team Groom was a pretty strong unit. Matt’s best man and best friend Simon was an awesome right hand man and our ushers, Brother in Law Matt and closest friends Allen and Joe were a great support for Matt on the big day!

The moment I saw Matt’s gorgeous face looking back at me as I walked down the aisle I just couldn’t wait to be by his side. We had always known we would want a church service and we couldn’t have asked for anything better. Matt’s sister Jacqueline sung as part of the choir, which was amazing. Performing True Colours and All You Need Is Love. I’m so glad we had them and provided perfect entertainment while we went off to sign the register. We also had some amazing readings from Jacqueline, my gorgeous friend Helen and an actor friend of mine who I have mentioned numerous times in blogs, Karla.

Now, what with me being an actor, we had to have an acting themed wedding. Our wedding invitations were theatre tickets (with a tear off stub for the RSVP), our order of service was a theatre programme and our table plan a stage. Our table names were the names of theatres, and of course, we had to throw in Matt’s beloved… Man United, so we named the top table Theatre of Dreams – quite fitting I hear you say, but also it’s the name for Old Trafford! But to me the finishing touch was the amazing wedding cake by Emily Jane Cakes. She took our ideas and run with it to create the perfect wedding cake without it being to tacky!

The only other thing I have to mention is the amazing singing waiters we booked. OMG!!! They are awesome. From the moment we arrived at Laura Ashley Manor, after the church service, they were there serving drinks and chatting to guests. During the dinner they were topping up guests glasses, but the moment the deserts were delivered to the tables the magic began. From the start of their 20 minute set they lead you in to believing that in their country it is tradition for the waiters to sing a song to the bride and groom, then continuing in to what was an amazing show – a highlight has to be them singling out both our mums, my maid of honour and Matt’s best man and singing songs dedicated to them!
