Frankie Valli has made more of a connection with younger audiences, mainly thanks to the huge success of the musical Jersey Boys. And that is exactly where Matt and I fell in love with their music. So, when we saw that Frankie was going on tour this year we had to try and get tickets.
As I may have mentioned before, Matt works for the John Lewis Partnership and one of the many bonuses of working for them is the use of the John Lewis box at many of the big stadiums. We’ve managed to get tickets for the box at the 02 a few times, but this was the first time we’d been to the Manchester Arena box. We love it because you have a pretty awesome view of the stage, plus a bar so drinks are easily accessible and toilets so no long queues – Ladies, you’ll appreciate this one!!
Frankie Valli’s music has been very special to Matt and I. We first saw the hit show Jersey Boys after about 6months of dating and it has stuck with us since. Our first dance at our wedding was to Can’t Take My Eyes Off Of You, so you can imagine how emotional we both felt when the legend himself sung it live.
All I can say is, the guy has still got it! At 83 he can still sing all those high notes just as spectacularly as his youth. What a show! Backed with 4 singers and an 8 piece band Frankie took us back to all those classics that got the whole audience singing along. I have been to quite a few gigs now from Chase and Status to Jessie J, but nothing compares to Frankie Valli. I didn’t want the night to end! Oh, What a Night indeed!
